About Med-ALERT
•Med-ALERT doctors are under contract to the North West
Ambulance Service (NHS Trust) as Honorary Medical Officers and are mobilised
only by Ambulance Control.
Contact InformationThe Charity Director is responsible for the proper running of Med-ALERT as a charity. Namely registration with the Charity Commissioners, the Data Protection Act, Insurers, keeping of accounts, auditing of accounts, raising of funds, publicity, liaison with fund raising bodies etc. Supporter member activities would be also included as would periodic meetings of the whole Charity for the purpose of information, co-ordination and planning. The Business Director is responsible for liaison with Ambulance Service, PCT’s, Voluntary Aid Societies, Military, OOH’s services, NHS Direct, the LMC, professional groups and all other bodies where contractual arrangements of a medical nature may involved. The Medical Director is responsible the definition of clinical competencies required, the vetting and training of recruits, the continuing development of existing members, the organisation of training courses, the collection of clinical records, the audit of clinical data, the provision of medical equipment, the servicing of it and the documentation of all the aforesaid to provide evidence of clinical governance.
